Word Of The Day: Europeany

Seriously. Say it. It's funny.

Anyway, I thought I'd update the blog with some completely random and totally unmusical photos from the last European tour. Who knows? You all might think it cool to get a little peek into the weirdness that is what the T-Ward Band finds interesting enough to capture on camera.

After our first van died, we were forced to rent a moving truck and a BMW wagon in order to make it to our show in Malmö on time. Here's the crew manning the truck; nail-biting, to say the least.

What we saw. A lot.

The destruction of the Berlin Wall is probably the very first piece of huge, worldwide news I remember paying attention to. I was a young lad when the Wall came down, too young to understand the significance of the event. Years later, getting to see a preserved piece of it was a dream come true.

Our last gig in Europe this year took place in Prague, a city in which we'd never played. The venue featured this cool piece of decoration: a color-changing something hanging from the roof in the hallway backstage. Definitely deserving of the blog.

Not sure what's going on here, but it's probably not as cool as it looks.

Churches tend to be... well, let's say... rather impressive across the pond, and thus, one of my favorite touristy stops.

And then there's this.

And this.

And Lake Geneva is as beautiful as anything.

Last night marked the beginning of our 2012 US & Canadian tour with a kickoff to remember in Salt Lake City. The energy of the crowd was great and the band wasted no time finding its footing on stage after almost a week since its last performance. I'm sure by the time 27 more shows have concluded, we'll have a whole new round of stories and pictures to share with everyone. But we won't forget Europe anytime soon and we certainly can't wait to get back.

On to Vancouver.

  1. Seriouly - if you liked Lake Geneva you should totally plan a day in the "Salzkammergut" for the next tour. It's on the way from Munich (or Stuttgart this time) to Vienna, in Austria. There's a highway exit called "Regau".
If you leave at this exit and drive south for about 10 miles you have the "Lake Traunsee" - and within a radius of 20-50 miles you have so many lakes and beautiful mountains.
Totally worth spending a day there.
